Over time, Logtainer also started to operate on all the ports of the Tyrrhenian Sea to become the leading private Italian logistics company in the intermodal container transport sector.
G.I.P. established, with the shipping company MSC, an important consortium with the aim of managing the new terminal of Calata Bettolo together and in partnership with the Sech terminal . The operation of the terminal is planned for 2018.
G.I.P. acquired a 50% share of the TDT terminal (Terminal Darsena Toscana), the most important container terminal in Livorno. This personally committed G.I.P. to the operation of the terminal. After a year and a half, it secured a majority of the TDT, by acquiring a further 30% of the terminal.
